I don’t feel safe in Center City Philly after dark
Two Fridays ago, Mr. B and I took his mom out for her birthday, to Alma de Cuba in Center City Philly around 7:30 pm. The goal was for her to relax and enjoy. We had an excellent dinner, followed by frozen yogurt down the street. A mojito and two cocktails later between the three of us, we were pretty relaxed. By the time we were leaving to head back to our car, parked in a garage at Liberty Shops, it was really dark out, maybe 9:30 or so. While there were definitely some people walking around, it wasn’t too crowded.
»I have to stop blogging because the Russian spirit world is telling me to.
It’s true that comedy writers usually need to be miserable to produce good content. Unfortunately, I had a very excellent birthday weekend filled with friends, family, love, happiness, and those little tarts that have fruit on them, so I’m all out of ideas.

Mila Kunis Schools a Reporter but Maybe Makes a Grammar Mistake
Edit: I was wrong. I watched it again and she says “vi”, so thanks to everyone for pointing it out. Not sure where I got this from. Maybe from my imagination, which is currently running a Mila vs. Russian journalist kung fu movie?

When I was growing up, we had a domovoi. Every Russian household does. In your head, he looks kind of like a shorter Peter Jackson. But of course, you don’t know for sure since you’ve never seen him.
»Blog Redesign!
Note: This is a lot of designer-y and tech-y speak, so if you want to skip it, I’m going to have a fun post up later today.

»I Feel Like a Whole Red Square of People is in My Head and Other Personal Branding Problems
When I started this blog two-some years ago, personal branding was all the rage, and everyone was all like, you have to blog under your own name so your ideas get heard and you build yourself up. What everyone didn’t tell me is that once you blog under your own name, you have to self-censor to the point where all your content becomes bland and boring, especially if you’re employed and have family. Maybe this is why most personal branding and social media blogs are terrible and I have no idea how those people are taken seriously and make money.

»How loud can you scream? Thanks to either nature or nurture, I found out yesterday!
A couple weeks ago, Mr. B and I were having a discussion about women that stemmed from this post wherein a woman got skeeved when an unknown-to-her guy in an elevator with her asked her up to his room late at night and then Richard Dawkins got involved and basically got all Male White Priveledge up on her in some comment section and it’s a long story but it boiled down to the fact that women are creeped out and on alert when they’re alone in elevators with dudebrahs and men don’t get it.
