Friday Links

Yesterday Mr. B and I went to see the Nationals play the Cardinals at Nationals Park in D.C. and it was an amazing night.  The weather was PERFECT, the full moon was out, watching the game, and the Nationals, known for being really awful, actually won.  I played softball for 10 years so baseball is one of the only sports I understand and can watch for more than an hour.

What is it about analyzing 20-somethings?

What is it about analyzing Generation Y that everyone loves so much (I’m talking to you, too, Gen Y bloggers) ?

Just in case you don’t think you’re possibly getting enough of me, I’m also on Tumblr sometimes.  It’s where I put all my random pics and stuff that doesn’t fit into blog posts.

Chat with Mr. B

Mr. B: *turns on song*

Me: Is that Prince?  (Mr. B has been into Prince lately)

Mr. B: No.  Listen closer, idiot.

Me: *halfway through the song* It’s Prince?

Mr. B: Does that sound like a man to you?

The song is Simply the Best.

Mr. B: You have problems.

Me: What! I can’t help it that she sounds like a man. I thought that Modern Talking was women until I was 15 and my parents disillusioned me.

Mr. B: You really do have problems.  turns on Modern Talking Wow.  They really do sound like women.

Where’s Vicki?

Let’s just say having 6 birthday get-togethers over the length of three days (for me alone.  Not to mention the fact that four family members have birthdays within two weeks of each other), a physical (a whole event for a hypochondriac), losing power, and being engrossed in an extremely Super Sad book has given me an overwhelming amount of blog material that will come out soon. I promise.

A book about why the Middle East is crazy

I’ve been going on non-stop about I’ve been going on non-stop about on Twitter for the past couple of days now, but I really loved it and I think it’s really an important read for anyone involved in any sphere of Middle Eastern relations, even as a navel-gazer.
